Habitat for Humanity Says Thank You!

To all of our sponsors and those hearty souls who braved the nasty, rainy weather to participate in our golf outing on October 2, thank you!  You endured some truly unpleasant conditions, but you had a choice.  Someone asked me if we were going to play in that weather and I said, “a bad day of golf is still better than a good day at work,” but we had a choice

The day began windy and cold and then the rain came with a vengeance. Many sought drier conditions after nine holes, but a few intrepid golfers took what Mother Nature offered, played through the storm and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. But they had a choice.

The reason for this and other Habitat for Humanity fund raisers is because many of our Monroe County neighbors do not have a choice.  They endure leaky roofs and windows that do not protect them from winds, rain and snow because they cannot afford the necessary repairs. They have no choice.

And that’s why Habitat for Humanity exists – to provide safe, affordable, comfortable housing for those in need. To everyone who supported our outing by volunteering, being a sponsor, or playing through a storm – THANK YOU! Your support allows Monroe County Habitat for Humanity to fulfill  itsmission, and we – and especially our neighbors who benefit from your generosity – appreciate your efforts.

Thank you for making the right choice!

Sincerely,

Gary Samboy
