Tobyhanna, PA, January 14, 2019 – Monroe County Habitat for Humanity is within striking distance of meeting its Annual Campaign goal of $12,500, and there’s still time to make a contribution to put them over the top.

According to Habitat’s executive director Kelly Kemmerer, $12,500equals the total average cost of five home preservation projects. “We set a goal of completing 30 home preservation projects during this fiscal year which ends on July 1, 2019, and funds raised during our Annual Campaign will certainly help us achieve our goal,” she said.

Home Preservation projects result in a win/win, Kemmerer explained. “When our neighbors live in safer, healthier homes they are able to be more productive citizens, and our entire community benefits. The homeowner’s contribution of ‘sweat equity,’ interest free loans from Habitat, and volunteer labor keep the costs down, so this really becomes a hand up rather than a hand out.”

“Habitat depends on the generosity of friends, corporations, churches and community organizations to fulfill its mission,” Kemmerer added, “and supporting the less fortunate among us is the perfect New Year’s resolution.”

Contributions to the annual appeal can be mailed to Monroe County Habitat for Humanity, 354 Memorial Boulevard, Tobyhanna, PA 18466. They can also be made online at For more information, contact Kelly Kemmerer at 570 216-4390 or
