Monroe County Habitat for Humanity Prepares to Nail It

Tobyhanna, PA – April 2021 – Monroe County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) is ready to hold its eagerly anticipated 4th annual She Nailed It competition on May 16.

“According to Dr. Kelly Jean Kemmerer, MCHFHs executive director, the agency’s popular fundraiser will be a virtual experience due to Covid-19, and all safety protocols will be observed. “Masks, gloves and social distancing will be required”Dr. Kemmerer explained. “Individual teams will be videotaped in front of judges at the MCFHFH offices in The Mountain Center in Tobyhanna on May 1st from 10am-3pm. Once all the teams have participated and the number of nails noted, a viewing event will be aired on Facebook at 4pm, on Sunday, May 16, and the 2021 Golden Hammer winners announced.”

“MCHFH’s most important fundraiser, She Nailed It pits teams of four women against each other in a nail hammering competition to determine which team can pound the most nails in a 2×4 in an allotted amount of time and take home the Golden Hammer. “Competition has become intense over the last three years,” Dr. Kemmerer said, “and the women from Weiler have emerged as the team to beat; they’ve won the Golden Hammer the last two years and are definitely looking for a ‘three peat.’ Hoping to out nail Weiler’s Warriors are teams from ESSA, RE/MAX, and the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, as well as the MahJongg Mavens, She Bangs, Hammerheads, Woodpeckers, and Sahara Sisters. Certainly, the competition will be lively, and we appreciate their participation.”

“We also appreciate the support of our sponsors,” Dr. Kemmerer added. The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau is our Silver Hammer ($2,000) sponsor, ESSA, Barbara Hill, and Weiler are Bronze Hammer ($1,000) sponsors, Citizens Bank and RGB Custom Builders are Partner Sponsors ($500), and Jack Williams Tire Company and RE/MAX of the Poconos are Nailer Sponsors ($250).”

“She Nailed It is a unique, exciting event and our most important fundraiser,” Dr. Kemmerer said. “All proceeds allow MCHFH to continue to work toward our vision of ‘every person in Monroe County having a safe, decent place to live.’ We encourage teams and sponsors to partner with us in this important effort.” Opportunities still exist for sponsors, and sponsorship forms and additional information are all available at or by emailing
