Monroe County Habitat for Humanity Nails It

Rosemary Brown and Gary in the Morning Help “Hammer Home the Cause”

Tobyhanna, April 4, 2017 – Monroe County Habitat for Humanity will hold its first annual She Nailed Itfundraiser on Thursday, July27, at 4pm, at Memory Town in Mt. Pocono, PA.

This event features teams of four women from area businesses and organizations competing head to head to determine which team can hammer the most nails in a stud in a given amount of time. Funds raised will support Habitat’s mission to provide safe, secure, affordable housing for low-income families in Monroe County.

Although She Nailed It has become a popular event throughout the country, Kelly Kemmerer, Habitat’s executive director, says this is a first for Monroe County.

“We’re thrilled to announce that State Representative Rosemary Brown has agreed to be our Honorary Chairand that popular radio personality Gary Smith (Gary in the Morning) will lend his talents as emcee,” Kemmerer said. “We deeply appreciate their enthusiasm and support for what promises to be a fun event.”

“Habitat for Humanity is a blessing for people in our area who are struggling financially to make home repairs,” Rosemary Brown said. “Their mission is one of kindness that helps people remain safely and comfortably in their homes. I am proud to support Habitat and She NailedIt.”

Local businesses and community organizations are encouraged to create teams of four who will reach out to friends, families, and co-workers for sponsorship. “Team members will commit to raising a total of $1,000 to help their team ‘hammer home the cause,’ Kemmerer said.
