Stroudsburg ShopRite Supports Habitat for Humanity

Tobyhanna, PA, April 17, 2017 – On Saturday, April 22, the ShopRite in Stroudsburg will welcome volunteer baggers from Monroe County Habitat for Humanity. Habitat board members and the Executive Director, Kelly Kemmerer will join ShopRite employees at the register and bag groceries from 10am-4pm, to increase awareness for Habitat for Humanity’s mission and accept donations to support its work.

“We’re deeply grateful to the Stroudsburg ShopRite for this opportunity to tell our story and raise funds to support our work,” said Kelly Kemmerer, Habitat’s executive director. “We rely on these kinds of community partnerships to fulfill our mission to broaden access to affordable housing,” she said. “Providing safe, decent housing for those in need has proven to be the foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty; therefore, the entire community benefits from our efforts.”

ShopRite’s Help Bag Hunger initiative is part of its community-based Partners in Caring program that supports agencies that aid those in need. “We’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity. It’s what good neighbors do,” said Becky Courtright, manager of the Stroudsburg ShopRite.
