Home Improvement Activity Increases During COVID-19 Habitat for Humanity Can Help

Tobyhanna, PA- January19, 2021 – As people spend more time at home during the COVID pandemic, they are creating long “to-do” lists of home improvement projects that range from painting a room to replacing floors, doors or kitchen countertops, and more. If you’re among them and are in need of materials, look no further than Monroe County Habitat for Humanity’s warehouse.

“We typically have Warehouse Sales that are open to the public several times a year,” said Kelly Kemmerer, Habitat’s executive director. “This year, however, due to COVID restrictions, we’re selling our inventory by appointment. Currently, we have a great selection of new doors (both interior and exterior) that are pictured on our Facebook page, but there is usually a full inventory of building materials, paint, organization, insulation, and plumbing and  lighting fixtures,” she said. “Our warehouse allows people to purchase new and used home improvement items at deeply discounted prices,” Kemmerer added, “and we accept checks and credit cards for payment.”

Interested shoppers can contact Monroe County Habitat for Humanity for more information by calling 570 216-4390 or emailing execdirector@habitatmc.org. All proceeds from sales in our warehouse allow us to administer all of our programs including Home Preservation. The home preservation program partners with homeowners affected by low income, old age, or disability to make necessary repairs to their homes.
