WHO: Women volunteers from Mt. Pocono Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanitywill celebrate International Women’s Day with Women Build project

WHAT: Ten female volunteers from the Mt. Pocono Lowe’s will partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a handicap accessibleramp for a Tobyhanna home owner in need.

WHEN:   Wednesday, March 4, 9am-3pm

WHERE:  2149 LittleBilly Lane, Tobyhanna

Women Build is a global event sponsored by Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity International since 2008,that focuses on empowering women and helping them create safe, stable, affordable homes. From March 1- 8, approximately 6,000 women in more than 235 communities here and abroad will raise a hammer to build or improve homes; this is the first Women Build in Monroe County.

Representatives from Monroe County Habitat (Kelly Kemmerer) and Lowe’s, State Representative Maureen Madden, a representative from State Representative Jack Rader’s office, Sara Smith-Katz (Sista Chat Radio), and Gary Smith (Gary in the Morning)will be available for comment on site at 11am. The media is invited to cover this first ever Monroe County Women Build.
